Lacroix takes the lead of the Nascar Pinty’s Championship!
It was during the Budweiser 300 at Autodrome Chaudière on June 29 that Kevin Lacroix took the lead in the Drivers' Championship with a one-point ahead of his opponent Andrew Ranger.
The Autodrome Chaudière is no longer Lacroix’s unlucky track, since the Dodge #74 Bumper to Bumper / Total / Gates / PFC Brakes, has now finished second step of the podium, after this 300-lap event.
Kevin is extremely happy with his result, especially during the first race of the season in Quebec. The driver was hoping for a Top 5 knowing the difficulties of alternator that he had last year. So finish on the podium is for him an excellent result! " The race went well, we were hoping for a Top 5, so finishing on the podium is excellent, both for the points and to convince me that the Autodrome Chaudière is no longer an oval track that doesn’t suit me as in previous years. " - Kevin Lacroix.
For this event, Kevin Lacroix was starting the race from the 5th position and that was what he was aiming for during the qualifying. The Bumper to Bumper Team and Lacroix tried the car at Autodrome Chaudière a few weeks before, in anticipation of this important race for our Bumper to Bumper pilot.
The next race will take place at the Exhibition Place in Toronto for the fourth event of the season. This event promises to be intense, with only one point separating Lacroix from the second, Andrew Ranger. " To be at the top of the standings is fantastic, but stressful too, because I have to maintain this position. At this point, I have to be careful because I have everything to lose. The season is still young, but the goal is to stay in the lead. "
